Nasty-Assed Recipes - Superbowl Edition IT GETS WORSE
It has officially gotten worse. Just when I think the cookie dough dip is the most disgusting thing I've seen since White Castle dip, cake batter dip comes along. It contains a raw box of cake mix people, mixed with yogurt and freakin' COOL WHIP and you dip cookies in it. My heart breaks a little bit thinking about it and how much many of my relatives would love this recipe.

The picture in the link of that dip sent me scouring my brain/Google as to why it seemed so familiar. I found the answer after a few searches: DUNKAROOS. Seen here: http://www.hungryrunnergirl.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/3458265658_0c738c8be5_z.jpg
Does anybody remember these abominations? I recall liking the cookies, as they had a baking-spice flavor, but the icing part was questionable, at best.
Are you on pinterest? They love nasty-assed recipes on there. <a href="http://pinterest.com/pin/85216617918973994/>This one</a> just popped up (note that it's pinned to "I am a wanna-be foodie").
Besides the fact that this is an affront to good taste, it's also dangerous!
People think that the problem with eating raw cookie dough / cake mix etc. is the raw egg.
Wrong!
Eating uncooked flour can be just as bad for you - it can be contaminated with bacteria like salmonella and e coli... cooking/baking is necessary.
No raw dough/batter for me, ever! Ew ew ew.
I will make the previous dip, but I draw the line at cake mix and yogurt. Cake mix is an abomination. That being said, I do own the Cake Doctor cookbook. Find a recipe from that book and I will try to make it.
I cannot click. I will projectile-vomit all over my computer screen. [shudders]
WL, that is truly a Nasty-Assed Recipe. As my late grandmother would say: "Jeezus GAWD."
My SIL brought a salad once to an event at my house. My sister and I stared in in horror as she set her dish on the dinner table - Snickers Salad. We had never heard of such a thing and certainly couldn't figure out how it was a salad. This may be the recipe http://www.food.com/recipe/snickers-salad-62855
(Leaving a comment b/c I'm too lazy to find your contact info - alas, this has nothing to do with nasty-assed recipes) I was so excited at the library book sale to find the Zippy book for $2 yesterday! Got some others, too, but am reading Zippy (forgot the whole title and am, of course, too lazy to look or google) first on your recommendation. Whoo hoo!
Thanks for the information and knowledge.
Oh Wide Lawns, where are you? Of course we know you're working on your book, but also assuming you're over on Twitter and have forgotten all about those of us who love to read your blog and do not have the time to spend reading random updates about random stuff. Please come back, if only for a post to let us know that you still care. We miss your entertaining posts!
I miss your posts.
Hope you come back soon, and hope that all is well with you and Baby Lawns. :)
Yoo-hoo! Wide Lawns! It's April, my dear. How about a new post, please?
