What a creative, funny post! Sorry it was such a rough night though. I also googled "baby will not sleep unless held" during Little Man's first month, which led me to Dr. Sears, which helped me to not feel so paranoid about co-sleeping. It saved our sanity and my back, which was killing me from sitting up all night long with him. It's also made breastfeeding at night MUCH easier. Little Man slept with me for about 3.5 months. He's finally sleeping in his crib (which is a huge relief as he starts daycare next week), but I miss having him in bed with us!

Hope Baby Lawns feels better soon.

it's hard when babies are tiny and they are sick. I hope she gets better soon. I 2nd the suggestion about Dr. sears books/info. our son was fussy; his articles and books about fussy babies are very helpful.

That sounds like such an awful night! I'm so sorry it happened.

(But it did make for a good blog post.)

When you're totally tired of getting high off the smell of your baby's head and want to put her down, that wrapping thing (I can't think of the official term) may help her.

There are "green" things you can do to get rid of ants, and those of course won't be bad for the baby.

Hope you guys feel better soon.

I thought that I was the only one with weird insect (arachnid)/ orifice issues. I have had spiders bite me (not once but twice) in my sinuses. You don't need to think hard to figure out how they got there. Luckily, they weren't bad bites.

It is good to know that I am not the only one with the chaos cloud.

Also, I can only tell you that you will sleep again. I always feel that the first three months are a "hazing period" for parenthood.

That was one of the funniest and most imaginative blog posts I've ever read - or ever will read, probably.

However, I'm sorry that things are not going perfectly right now. I hope Dr. Sears (or someone) can help soon. In the meantime, I'll be sending positive thoughts your way.

Dr. Sears.

And welcome to motherhood! It's not for the faint of heart, and I don't remember much because I was sleep-deprived for the first, oh, six months of her life, but she survived, and I survived. She's sixteen now...and a beautiful, smart, funny, awesome kid.

You'll do just fine. Baby Lawns will be fine. It's just the new mother hazing. Which sucks a lot, but it's part of the job.

That "wrapping thing" is called swaddling and it really can help. Just wrap her up like a little burrito and see if she calms down. If that fails, remember that father-daughter bonding is very important and go take a nap. Very funny post by the way.

Cornmeal is a good natural way to kill ants.

Sorry about the rest of it though ...

Last min wonder trick is the car... I remember a few nights I put my son the car at 4 am just to finally get him to sleep when he wasn't feeling well... desperate yes, but it works. And I'm personally not sure the child was actually born, as you have not finished the birth story. So that makes you about 10 months preggers now...
