One of the Old Graveyards in Millpond

This is one of the old graveyards outside of town that I was describing. This isn't where Pop is buried, but there are these small, old cemeteries all over the place. This one is next to a field. There used to be a church here but it was torn down. I've always wondered why.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Don't think I've seen you before so it's very nice to "meet" you!

I love exploring old cemetaries too. There is a pioneer one near here that at some point in the very early 1800s had been in a community, but there are no houses there now. There is hardly any old people buried there, most people died before the hit 30. There is some society that restores old cemetaries, fixes the broken ones and plants flowers and shrubs.

Very interesting - love the photo! The Bag Lady loves cemeteries - the older, the better. She wishes she could visit the graveyard where her great-great-uncle (who died in the Civil War) is buried, but it's really far away from northern Alberta. Sigh.

ckThis is pretty amazing! Old cemetaries have always been intriguing to me, but I've never really had a chance to explore any of them, since my town has no cemetaries and is probably less than a 100 years old.
