Only in My Neighborhood

This is entirely too many peacocks to be standing in the middle of one street, in my opinion. The nerve of them. They're looking a little rough at the moment because they all molted and shed their long, pretty tails. They're in the process of regrowing them for the summer I think.

I have a similar photo, only with turkeys. Not nearly as attractive.

Peacocks taste better.

wow. was going to relocate some to my moms house in the grove but then learned about them. Um, yeah, no thanks. No wonder everyone in the hood was practically begging me to take them, but I refused until I could talk to the person that fed them - even she wanted them gone, except for a couple of favorites.

Those suckers can be mean too..they have to be related to geese somehow..

Here it's possums at night and not much further south it's armidillos. Hitting a dead armidillo in the road is like hitting a trash can...or a bunch of hammers. Enjoy your peacocks.

I suppose if I had to drive around them and listen to them on a daily basis I might feel the same. To my eyes though they are a beautiful sight - even in moult.

We have several different flocks of wild parrots that roam the neighborhood here in Los Angeles. You can always tell they're outside because they are NOISY. I recall hearing that we have a few wild peacocks that hang out in the neighborhoods down near the LA Arboretum.

They're all pests, but at leas they're easier on the eyes than the dang possums.

Very cool!

I just moved to Provincetown, Mass, where we have lots of peacocks roaming the streets too--but they tend to be of the human variety.

And this time of year they too are looking a bit rough, but by summer they'll be all spiffed up.

I'm just now getting around to catching up on my favorite blogs, and as usual you're making me laugh way too much. It can't be good for me. The "impacted" and nakend-in-St Maarten" posts still have me giggling.

Were they having a peacock party? Were there presents? Did you get invited, or just look at the goings on over the fence?

One of my readers wondered if I was familiar with your site. Yeah, whatever. Then I looked at your site, and i wondered--are those the very same peacocks I wrote about the post before my most recent? May they brings us both amazing luck times eight!
